I've got small hands and this leash doesn't dig in at all, even when my beagle decides to lunge at a squirrel. The super hook snaps shut with a solid click, so I'm not worried about it popping open mid-walk.

The rubber skull on the handle is such a clever touch, it keeps the stitching from rubbing against my palm on long walks. My lab pulls hard and the lock hook hasn't slipped once, which I can't say for my last leash.

The handle loop is padded just enough that my hands don't ache after an hour-long walk with my lab mix. The hook locks solid too, no accidental unclipping when she lunges at squirrels.
